Before Anything Else

This was never a willpower problem.

You did the pregnancies, the sleepless years, the putting-yourself-last. Then you did the clean eating and the core work — and the stretched skin, the deflated shape, the little belly that stayed anyway never answered to any of it. It was never going to. The changes after children are structural — muscle, skin and volume — not a measure of how hard you tried. No amount of crunches reaches a muscle that has separated. Setting the shame down is where an honest plan begins.

A mommy makeover is elective surgery, considered carefully — not a weight-loss treatment. Knowing the difference is the start of doing it well.

A mother at her mirror, at ease and dressed for her day
Yours, restored. Never redone.
Why It Happens

What pregnancy actually changes — in plain language.

Most of what a mommy makeover addresses isn’t fat at all. It is what carrying and delivering a child does to the structure underneath — and understanding it is what tells you which fixes will ever work, and which never could.

Before pregnancy — muscle together

The two halves of the abdominal wall sit together along a firm centre line — a flat, supported profile.

After pregnancy — separated (diastasis)

The muscles stretch apart and leave a gap (diastasis). The lower belly pushes forward through it — the “pooch” a workout physically cannot close.

Separated muscle

Diastasis recti — the abdominal wall parted during pregnancy and did not knit back. A structural gap, not fat. Planks and crunches cannot repair it.

Stretched skin

Skin stretched over months of growth can lose its elasticity and not retract, folding or draping even once the weight is gone.

Deflated breasts

After nursing, breasts can lose volume and settle lower — a change in shape and position that fullness alone won’t restore.

Redistributed fat

Where the body holds fat can shift after pregnancy, thickening the waist and flanks in a way that is stubborn to effort.

One Plan, One Recovery

Addressed together, as a system — not piece by piece over years.

A mommy makeover is not one operation. It is a considered combination of procedures — commonly a tummy tuck with muscle repair, a breast lift and/or restored volume, and liposuction to refine the waist — planned so the abdomen, breasts and shape read in proportion with one another. Done together, they mean one anaesthetic and one recovery, which for a mother is the part that actually matters.

Done separately

Three surgeries, three recoveries

Addressing each concern on its own, months or years apart, is a real option — but it asks the scarcest thing you have.

  • A separate recovery for each procedure — the hardest weeks, repeated
  • Anaesthesia and downtime, more than once
  • Results that can drift out of proportion when done at different times
The considered combination

One plan, one recovery

Where it genuinely serves the result, the components are combined into a single planned procedure — undertaken once.

  • One recovery to arrange your life and your children’s around
  • The abdomen, breasts and waist balanced to each other in one design
  • Only what the result requires — Dr. Marchand combines nothing for its own sake
What Is Addressed

The restoration, part by part — combined only where it serves you.

The tummy — tummy tuck

Removes stretched, excess skin and, where present, repairs the separated muscle (diastasis) — the structural change core work cannot reach. This is what finally flattens the profile.

The breasts — lift and/or volume

A lift restores position after nursing; restored or added fullness brings back proportion. Planned to your frame, never to a trend.

The waist & flanks — liposuction

Refines the waistline and sides in the same setting, so the abdomen and the flanks read together rather than one at a time.

The finishing touches

Where they serve the whole, arms or the mons can be refined in the same plan — considered options, never a default add-on.

Your combination, not a package

Every mother’s starting point is different. Your plan includes only the components that restore your proportions — nothing more.

When it isn’t the right time

If you may have more children, are early postpartum, still nursing, or nearing a stable weight, the honest answer is to wait. You’ll hear that plainly.

Meet Your Surgeon

Dr. Élise Marchand

Two decades restoring bodies after children have left Dr. Marchand with one conviction above the rest: in this surgery, restraint — and honest timing — are the harder and the better skills. She designs, performs and reviews every plan herself.

  • Double board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery
  • A mommy-makeover practice kept deliberately small — a limited number of cases each month
  • Every plan designed, performed and reviewed by Dr. Marchand herself
  • A philosophy of restoring what motherhood changed — never chasing a look that was never yours
“I would far rather be the surgeon who told you to wait than the one who rushed you.”

Are You Ready?

A private candidacy & readiness review.

Not everything about a mommy makeover is the surgery — a good part of it is timing. Five unhurried questions, about a minute. At the end, a considered read on where — and when — to begin, and a quiet invitation if you’d like one. Nothing is decided until you meet Dr. Marchand.

Where — and when — to begin, considered privately.

This takes about a minute. Your answers stay private and are used only to prepare a thoughtful recommendation.

Question One
What would you most like to restore?

Choose what matters most to you today.

My tummy
My breasts
Both
My waist & shape
Not sure yet
Question Two
Which areas would you like to consider?

Select any that apply. This helps shape the plan around your proportions.

Tummy
Breasts
Waist / flanks
Back
Question Three
What concerns you most?

A rough sense is plenty. The consultation confirms what is truly at play.

Loose or stretched skin after pregnancy
A belly pouch that won’t go with exercise (possible muscle separation)
Lost breast volume, or sagging after nursing
A softer waistline that resists exercise
Not sure
Question Four
How are you thinking about timing?
I feel ready to begin
There is an occasion ahead
I am exploring, unhurried
Question Five
A little about your journey so far.

This context helps Dr. Marchand recommend the right starting point — and the right time.

What to expect next

  • A member of the practice confirms your appointment by text and email, usually within one business day.

  • At the consultation: an in-person exam, an honest read on candidacy and timing, and — only if it’s the right time — a considered plan with a transparent, all-inclusive figure.
This reserves a complimentary, no-obligation consultation — not a surgical booking. Candidacy and timing are confirmed by Dr. Marchand herself, in person, for patients 18 and over. You may reschedule or step back at any point.
Your Recovery, Handled

The hard question isn’t the surgery. It’s who’s got the kids while you heal.

For most mothers this is the real hesitation — not the operation, but the two weeks after it, with small people who still need lifting, feeding and school runs. So it isn’t left to improvise. Before you ever agree to a date, the recovery is mapped to your household — a help-plan for the first weeks, honest lifting limits, and where a private recovery-support arrangement can be added if you’d like one.

  • Weeks 1–2 · the part to plan for

Rest, and hands you’ve arranged in advance

The most restricted stretch. No lifting the little ones; help lined up for the house and school run. We plan who that help is before your date, not after.

  • Weeks 2–6 · easing back

Light and steady, on a mother’s timeline

Most mothers are up and moving gently sooner than they feared, returning to light routine while still respecting limits. Timelines are typical ranges, and individual — never a guarantee.

  • Reviewed in person, throughout

You’re never left to guess what’s normal

Dr. Marchand reviews you along the way, so at every stage you know what to expect rather than searching for it at midnight.

What To Expect

An honest account of the path, from first conversation to settled result.

The consultation

Whether this is right — and whether now is the time

You and Dr. Marchand talk through what you’d like to restore, and when. Sometimes the honest answer is to wait — until you’re done having children, further past delivery, finished nursing, or nearer your goal weight — and you’ll hear that plainly, before anything else.

Your plan

Mapped, then built to your proportions

Your anatomy is assessed and a conservative plan drawn to it — which components serve the result, and which don’t. Transparent, all-inclusive pricing is prepared for you here, once a plan exists — never as a figure before it.

A note on C-sections

Working with the scar you already have

If you delivered by caesarean, that is planned around — often the existing scar can be incorporated rather than added to. It’s discussed openly at consultation, so nothing about your history is a surprise on the day.

Procedure day

Performed by Dr. Marchand, in an accredited theatre

Your combined procedure is carried out personally, in a fully accredited surgical facility, at the pace a small caseload allows rather than a booked-out one.

The result, settled

A figure that reads as rested, not redone

The result goes on refining over the months that follow. The intention throughout is a body that looks like you again — no more than that. How quickly it settles differs from person to person.

A quietly confident mother, some time after
One Mother's Words
“I put it off for six years. I kept telling myself I’d try harder — one more programme, one more January. The consultation was the first time anyone said, calmly, that the muscle had separated and no workout on earth would close it. She told me what she would not do before what she would, and she made me wait until I’d finished nursing. One recovery, planned around my two, instead of disappearing twice. I look like myself again — rested, in proportion. No one has asked what I had done. A few have asked what I’ve been doing differently.”

Safety & Standards

Considered care begins with where, and by whom, it is given.

A board-certified surgeon

Every plan is designed, performed and reviewed by Dr. Marchand — double board-certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery. Not delegated to anyone else.

An accredited facility

Your combined procedure is carried out in a fully accredited surgical theatre, held to the standards that matter most on the day it counts.

Candidacy confirmed in person

No one is a candidate on the strength of a form or a quiz. Suitability, and the right timing, are decided at consultation — by a board-certified surgeon, or not at all.

Let’s be honest with each other: this is real surgery — real anaesthesia, a real recovery, and real risks, each component carrying its own. It deserves a clear head and the right timing, which is exactly why we’d rather you wait than rush.

Making It Work
from $142/mo
and payments can start after you’ve healed.

The reason to wait is rarely the surgery — for many mothers it’s the timing, because recovery can mean weeks without earning. So a reservation can begin with a modest hold (about 10% down), with monthly payments able to start after your recovery, not during it. A complete, all-inclusive figure is prepared for you transparently at consultation — one number, once a plan exists, and never before your anatomy is understood.

What’s Included

One figure, prepared for you — and no surprises inside it.

Marchand quotes a mommy makeover all-inclusive, so the number you’re given at consultation is the number. Here is what that one figure covers.

Surgeon’s fee

Dr. Marchand’s time — planning, performing and reviewing your case personally.

Anaesthesia

Board-certified anaesthesia care for your combined procedure.

Accredited facility

The fully accredited surgical theatre and its team, on the day.

Surgical garments

The compression garments that support your recovery, provided.

All follow-up visits

Your reviews with Dr. Marchand through recovery — included, not billed one by one.

No surprise fees

What’s quoted is what’s owed. Anything outside it is named up front, before you decide.

The complete figure is prepared for you at consultation, once a plan is designed for your case. Demo · illustrative inclusions, confirmed by the practice.

If Now Isn’t Your Time

If a mommy makeover isn’t right yet, Dr. Marchand will tell you so.

The consultation is complimentary and carries no obligation — but the more useful promise is this: if waiting, or a different plan, would serve you better, you’ll hear that plainly and leave with it, whether or not it books a procedure. That is the one thing worth being certain of before you come in.

Considered Questions

The questions mothers actually ask.

Who’ll take care of my kids while I recover?

This is the question most mothers lead with, and it’s planned before your date, not after. Weeks one and two are the restricted stretch — no lifting the little ones — so we map out in advance who helps with the house and the school run, and where a private recovery-support arrangement can be added if you’d like one. You won’t be improvising it afterwards.

Can breastfeeding come before or after?

Yes — timing matters. It’s generally best to wait until you’ve finished nursing and your breasts have settled (often several months after weaning) before a breast procedure, so the result is planned on your true shape. As for feeding future babies, that’s discussed candidly at consultation as part of the plan.

I had a C-section. Does that change anything?

Often for the better. Where possible the existing caesarean scar can be worked with — incorporated into the tummy-tuck incision rather than added to. It’s reviewed openly at consultation so nothing about your history is a surprise on the day.

Will it last if I have another baby?

A future pregnancy can undo the result, which is exactly why timing is part of the plan. If you may have more children, the honest recommendation is usually to wait — and you’ll hear that plainly rather than be booked anyway.

Can’t I just fix the belly pouch with more core work?

Often not. A pouch that survives diet and exercise is frequently diastasis — separated abdominal muscle — which planks and crunches physically cannot knit back together. A tummy tuck repairs the muscle itself; that’s the difference, and why effort alone rarely finishes the job.

Is it safe — and how much recovery are we really talking about?

It’s real surgery, with real anaesthesia, a real recovery and real risks — done by a double board-certified surgeon in a fully accredited facility. The restricted stretch is roughly the first two weeks, with a gradual return over about six; timelines are typical ranges and individual, never guaranteed. Everything is spelled out before you agree to it.

Is this a weight-loss treatment?

No. A mommy makeover restores shape and repairs structure; it is not a treatment for weight loss and is best suited to those at or near a stable weight. If your weight is still changing, that’s discussed candidly first.

What will it cost, and can it be financed?

A complete, all-inclusive figure is prepared for you transparently at consultation, once a plan is designed for your case — one number covering surgeon, anaesthesia, facility, garments and follow-ups. Financing is available (reference from about $142/mo), a reservation can begin with a modest hold, and payments can start after your recovery. The soft-check doesn’t affect your credit.

How do I know if I’m even a candidate?

The short candidacy & readiness review on this page gives a considered first read in about a minute. It isn’t a diagnosis — a board-certified surgeon confirms candidacy, and the right timing, at your complimentary consultation.
